Many Ways to Support this Project
I need support to motivate myself to stay out in the field for the full four days. I feel that if people show their support and if I can help other equines in need I will remove the temptation to give up when the going gets tough. If you would like to support me in my efforts please choose one of the following methods. There will be something that everyone can do no matter where or who you are
Donate – In order to motivate me to stay out once I have started I have decided to fundraise for several equine rescues. These will be Amargos Animal Sanctuary, Freedom Fields and Cottage Rescue. I feel that it would be otherwise too easy to give up when I get tired. So this is a vital part of the overall effort. Also there are a lot of equines in Ireland who need your help. If you would like to donate something to this fundraising project please use our paypal link
Proud Spirit Books – I would also like to support one amazing equine sanctuary in Arkansas, USA which is Proud Spirit. The best way to help the 70 plus horses who are living their lives out in peace is to buy Melanie Sue Bowles books. You can find both of her books in our bookshop. One quarter of the proceeds that come from the Living in the Field project will go towards buying Melanie’s two books. These will then be distributed to people around the world to inspire and inform them….we will figure out who as we go along!
Pass the Word – Please pass this on to anyone you know who wants to help understand horses, to give them a better life and to support a dream that I have which is to learn from horses, to genuinely listen to them and to hear the wisdom that is in every one of them. You can direct them to this blog, our facebook page and the main site www.courtingthehorse.com in order to keep up with all developments.
Shelter Building – If you can help us to build a shelter for our two rescue horses Hazel and Pollyanne please get in touch courtingthehorse@gmail.com. We are looking for materials, expertise and man power so that they can be more comfortable through the winter months while still being able to remain outside, looking after themselves and deciding when they need shelter. We are experimenting with developing a natural boarding area for times when the weather is awful or when the fields are too mucky for them to be let out for a few days. This will hopefully be a model for boarding practices for other establishments and all ideas on this are welcome. It is intended to be an alternative to stabling and a move towards provinding a more pleasant lifestyle for horses.
Messages of Support – If you would simply like to share a message of support with me that would be fantastic too. You can email me at courtingthehorse@gmail.com
I will be updating this blog shortly with more information about the “Living in the Field” project. So please keep an eye out.
Thank you for your support.
